A needed stimulant and revival is taking place which requires the support of previous sponsors, public officials, residents, students, past participants, and music enthusiasts of the Gulf Coast.
We also welcome out neighbors from New Orleans to Mobile.

The festival weekend will kick off on Saturday with the Blessing of the Fleet at the East Harbor,
followed by a street fair and “The Great Gumbo Affair”, a gumbo cook-off with gumbo tasting on Davis Avenue. (Gumbo Tasting Tickets are available for $15)

You won’t want to miss this great event!
The first Jazz in the Pass was held on May 8, 1999, and the event continued for the next eight years as a way to show support and appreciation to Pass Christian’s musical heritage. The popular event was discontinued after Hurricane Katrina and is now able to return with the support of Pass Christian Main Street. 3 bands provided entertainment:
The New Orleans Navy Jazz Band
Played for "Jazz in the Pass" in 2004 and 2005


The versatile members of Navy Band New Orleans comprise a Ceremonial Band, Show Band South Big Band, the Full Steam Brass Band, Brass Quintet, and the Crescent City Krewe.  Drawing on its extensive concert repertoire, Navy Band New Orleans performs for military engagements and civilian concerts from Texas to Florida.  In fulfillment of its military obligations, the band plays for change-of-command ceremonies, retirements, the commissioning and decommissioning of naval vessels, and formal affairs.  As a professional performing ensemble, the band plays for cultural and patriotic events in the Gulf Coast region, including Mardi Gras, Veterans Day, Fourth of July, and various concert series.
